Every painting begins with a story...
Through expressive portraiture, symbolic imagery, and vibrant colors and textures, I create visual narratives that celebrate individuality and the courage to live an authentic life.
Collaged layers of patterned materials, found items, and mixed-media paint are interwoven to encourage viewers to slow down and dig deeper; to journey beyond the surface and discover new possibilities, ideas, and delights.
Ultimately, my work is a portal to self-discovery and an invitation to kindred souls. Come join me on the adventure!

About Beni:
Leah Beninato, "Beni," is a multi-disciplinary artist and storyteller from Massachusetts. Her love for the arts and creative expression was fostered from a young age in her mother's North Shore art studio and classroom where she learned the fundamentals of art composition and traditional Renaissance oil painting techniques. She quickly branched out and began exploring mixed-media, traditional fiber crafts, dance, theater, poetry, and psychology. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater from Salem State University and a Master of Arts in Expressive Art Therapies with a Specialization in Psychodrama from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA before returning to her roots in the visual arts.
Her many explorations influence her multi-layered narrative style and give her the freedom to explore and reflect deeply on personal, cultural, and spiritual questions. She works in series, starting with a central theme or question, and paints each piece through a different lens or angle. Each work stands alone as its own statement while adding depth and insight to the larger story.
Beni is currently attending the Mastery Program through the Milan Art Institute. She shares a studio with her mother, Merry Beninato, in Central Massachusetts where they teach semi-private art lessons and steward a 1/2 acre permaculture food forest and orchard.
